The Seaweed Adventure meets Kirstin Knufmann: Raw food and algae expert.

We met the raw food expert Kirstin Knufmann from PureRaw and were blown away by her products, her 2 cooking books and congratulated her to her newest title: “Einheitsbotschaftlerin” which is the German name for the honorary title as ambassador for the union of east and west Germany.

If you are looking for a wonderful selection of raw food smoothie additives or also some dried macro seaweed products PureRaw has a great selection prepared for you and there is even more to explore. Watch the video of all the products we took on board here and go follow our Instagram stories and account to find out what are preparing in our seaweed adventure kitchen.

We enjoy our morning rituals and routines.

Especially when you are traveling, routines and certain reoccurring courses of action are even more important especially to children, since they provide them some guidance and structure to rely on. We just love the morning routine of a warm drink and oat milk is the choice of our children. And since oat milk is not high in minerals nor contains calcium we love to supercharge our morning milk.

The red algae commonly called: calcium algae aka Lithothamnium calcareum is the perfect choice for us since it provides us with lots of minerals, important calcium for bone density and growth and is a great source of iodine! Go check our health story on iodine, if you haven’t yet and find out why iodine is so important for your body.

And it is a fun part to make our milk pink or blue or purple or green in the morning and while we stir our drinks we discuss our day and want we want to do. The colors also symbolize for us personally to eat and try the colors of the rainbow during the day and seaweed and algae are a great way to get that diversity and fun onto your family kitchen table.

Eating the rainbow a day keeps the doctor away.

Please wait for a wonderful wakame spring roll recipe (in the making) - this is just the right food for a warm summer evening like we had for the last weeks here in denmark - we are so grateful for this, especially keeping the flooding and water disasters in Germany in mind. And during our visit I was lucky to be invited into Kirstins kitchen and we prepared a great micro algae dinner for our families together (recipe details also in the making!).

So please be patient, have a smoothie and stay with us. All the love, all the seaweed power.
